Convenient web-enabled process speeds admission for many scheduled procedures
The Medical Center of Plano has announced the addition of online pre-registration to the menu of services available for several types of patient visits.
This new amenity enables certain patients to pre-register through the hospital’s website for procedures they plan to undergo at the hospital.
Specifically included are patients who already have a procedure scheduled, expectant women who need to pre-register for labor and delivery, and those who have an appointment for a screening mammogram.
“Today’s consumers count on being able to conduct many kinds of business online in a way that’s not only quick and easy, but personalized – from online banking to booking airline tickets,” said Patrick Whitmore, the TMCP’s chief financial officer. “With online pre-registration, we are providing healthcare options to our patients with the level of service and choice they expect.”
“This enhancement to the pre-registration process gives our patients increased control of their healthcare experience, as well as greater flexibility,” he added.
Those eligible to take advantage of the service include:
- Patients with a procedure already scheduled in one of several major clinical areas, including radiology, cardiology, pulmonology, endoscopy, and outpatient surgery;
- Obstetrical patients wishing to pre-register for labor and delivery;
- Patients requesting an appointment for a screening mammogram.
